I got a new one for you guys, written by an Ursula Vernon.
This one is an amazing story about a wombat who got lost and found herself in a strange new land with very strange creatures. Every character is different, but each are rich and deep individuals. Every minor seeming thing can turn into a powerful message of how small we are, or simply a well-made joke. Ed is an amazing philosopher even though he is a simple exile, his tale of why his people are the way they are is something that feels like it must have been real. The Shadowchild is something that is hard to define, and with almost no knowledge or reference point of who or what he is, his comments and questions about the world can be startling. The main character, Digger, maintains a level head in some pretty terrific situations, and the references about how her people live is a fairly divergent yet parallel setup as our own society.
This is a must read. Screw steampunk and the pretty art of some of the other comics I have already mentioned! This one's a work of art.
